Regina Scherer
Regina Scherer began playing the trumpet at the age of seven and has been taught by members of the Munich Symphony Orchestra. She is a prizewinner in various competitions, including the German National Youth Competition, and was a member of the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra for several years.
In 2011 she graduated with distinction from the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg, where she studied with Lutz Randow (Bamberger Symphoniker) and later with Prof. Christoph Braun (Staatstheater Nürnberg). She has also been inspired by collaborations and lessons with renowned trumpeters such as Prof. Hannes Läubin, Prof. Klaus Schuhwerk, Prof. Wolfgang Guggenberger, Richard Giangiulio and Manfred Bockschweiger.
She also plays in various chamber music ensembles in the Munich and Nuremberg areas and has won several prizes with her quintet at the Mozartverein 1829 e. V. Nuremberg. She is also active as a soloist, appearing with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra in 2003 and collaborating with various pianists. In the 2008/09 season, she was an intern with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, and in 2009/2010 she was at the Braunschweig State Theatre.
Matthias Eckart
Matthias Eckart studied classical and jazz trumpet in Würzburg with Prof. Erb, Prof. Heckmann and Prof. Salentin. He completed his studies in 2002 with a master's degree in classical trumpet. Matthias Eckart is a two-time winner of the first prize in the brass chamber music category of the Würzburg Stegmann Competition. From 1997 to 2002 he was a trumpet player at the South Thuringian State Theatre in Meiningen. His musical versatility makes him a welcome guest in many chamber, symphony and opera orchestras, brass ensembles and jazz formations, which is also reflected in numerous CD, film and radio recordings.
From 2005 to 2018, Matthias Eckart was a lecturer in trumpet at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. As a sought-after teacher in the Franconian region, he passes on his rich musical and technical experience. With his professional competence and relaxed manner, he leaves a lasting impression at his workshops for brass players and church brass ensembles.
Matthias Eckart realises his artistic visions as a freelance musician with the ensemble Akzente, the ensemble The trumpet shall sound, the Roblee Brass Quartet, and now also in the Blechmafia Nuremberg.
Charly Hopp
Charly Hopp completed his horn studies in 1998 at the Meistersinger Conservatory in Nuremberg with Michael Lösch, where he obtained a teaching diploma, and in 2001 at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim with Prof. Carlos Crespo, where he graduated with an artistic diploma.
He was a member of the Windsbacher Boys Choir, the Symphony Orchestra of the Bayreuth Youth Festival and the International Orchestra Academy of the Bavarian Radio in Ingolstadt. He has also performed in the musicals Cats and Phantom of the Opera in Stuttgart.
He is currently active as a soloist, teacher and choral conductor in various orchestras and chamber music groups.
He teaches at the Heilsbronn Music School, the Ansbach Music School, the Carolinum Gymnasium Ansbach, the Ansbach Realschule and the Ev. College in Windsbach
Stephen Jenkins

Stephen Jenkins was born in Cambridge, England and grew up in Sydney, Australia. His passion for music brought him back to Europe. He studied trombone and education in Sydney, Detmold, Weimar and Nuremberg. He has performed with the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Nuremberg Philharmonic and the Bavarian Chamber Orchestra Bad Brückenau. As a sought-after trombone and didgeridoo soloist, he can be heard regularly in live performances and on his YouTube channel.
For several years he has lived with his family in Roßtal, where he also conducts the trombone choir. Stephen is conductor of the Musikzug Großhabersdorf, trombone teacher at the singing and music school in the southern district of Fürth and at the music school in Heilsbronn.
A popular teacher, he regularly gives workshops for trombone choirs, Church Brass Ensembles and wind orchestras. He is also a frequent guest at many of the Bavarian Church Brass Association's clinics.
Stephen's reputation as a composer and arranger has grown over the years. His arrangements are not only performed at every concert of the BlechMafia Nuremberg, of which he is a co-founder, but are also played by brass ensembles all over the world.
Susumu Kakizoe
Susumu Kakizoe was born in Japan in 1981. He became interested in playing the tuba at the age of eleven. While still in Japan, he took lessons from Mr Yuichi Aoki, before continuing his studies in music education and performance at the University of Music Nuremberg, where he graduated with honours.
He also graduated with distinction from the master class of Mr Tatsuo Inada. During his studies he was already a member of numerous ensembles and orchestras and received additional instruction from renowned tubists such as Prof. Manfred Hoppert (Munich) and Heiko Triebener (Bamberg Symphony Orchestra).
In addition, he has also worked as an ensemble conductor, for example with the ensemble „Noris Brass“ or „Metropolmusik“ in Nuremberg. In addition to his successful work with young musicians, he is often heard as a sought-after tuba player in philharmonic orchestras, brass bands, trombone choirs and other musical groups. During his solo performances, he delights audiences not only with his musical skills, but also with his keen sense of humour. He regularly participates in international concerts, such as the German-Japanese Cultural Exchange or the Young German-French Philharmonic.
Wolfgang Schniske
Wolfgang Schniske plays in various rock and jazz formations as well as symphonic and chamber music ensembles.
Wolfgang Schniske has been a teacher for percussion and drums at the Music School Neustadt a. d. Aisch - Bad Windsheim e. V. since 2001 and was appointed director of the school in 2010. In addition, he works as a juror, instructor and orchestra substitute, and is a lecturer for percussion at the University of Music in Würzburg.
In 2011, his School for Drums, Volume I & II, was published by Gustav Bosse Verlag.
